Ford 41201S

I just bought a Ford model 41201S. It has 4x4, a Ford 19-527 loader, a 4 speed transmission with high and low. can I get all the information on this tractor I need in Ford 4000 manuals? I don't want to purchase one online and get the wrong one. Also how rare is this tractor? Is it very valuable? Thanks for any information anyone might have on this.

If you are a new user to this site, there is a certain number of post you have to make before you can post pictures. From your model number, your tractor may be an early 1960's. The four wheel drive may be an Elenco kit. The Elenco does add value, but they don't seem to generate the excitement they did a few years back. Is your four wheel drive fully functional? There is an early version and a late version of the Elenco. With your tractor being a model 41201, you may have a late Elenco. Also, the "S" at the end of your model number would indicate a factory installed Sherman combo. Post pictures if you can, or you can email pictures to me to post for you. I have a 1958 Ford 841 with an Elenco, so I may be able to answer questions you have.

The factory Ford manuals (Operators Manual and Service Manual) for the 4 cylinder 4000 series will cover everything on the tractor except the loader and the 4WD.

As michford siad, the 4WD is most likely Elenco, but there were other conversions available as well. A member here, Tony Jacobs, currently owns the Elenco brand and he is a wealth of knowledge on them.

19-527 is the frame assembly for a 735 series loader. You should be able to find manuals on them on line. I just did a quick search and the N Tractor Club web site has a PDF of the Operators manual posted. The service manual is available for sale at several sites.

I looked at it, says Zenco I thought on the four wheel drive. it is not functional as the drive shaft isn't on it. the guy I bought it from said he had never put it back on cause of a missing yoke. I looked up the serial number it was made in 1963, I'll email you pic.

I'm betting the name on your 4wd is Elenco. There were three companies that made 4wd for Ford tractors in the late 50's. They were Elenco, Sherman Napco, and Dual Loc.

Kyle, do you have the driveshaft for your tractor? Was the person you bought your tractor from the one that removed the driveshaft? Usually when you find an Elenco with the driveshaft removed it means that there is something wrong in the front axle. If your front axle has Elenco cast into the housing, it is a later version and will have the torque limiter behind the transfer case. I have an early version where the torque limiter is right behind the front differential. If yours has the torque limiter behind the transfer case, there is a large nut at the back to disengage the drive to the front axle. Is your tractor in running condition, just the four wheel drive not working? Attached is a picture of my 841 showing the torque limiter behind the front differential. Mine is a future project. Do you have pictures of your tractor? A few more posts and you should be able to post pictures, but you have to upload them to a site like Photobucket and link to them in your post here.

Hi Tony im chris and i was wonder if you hand a tranfer case that would work for a 1957 Ford 641 workmaster cuase im looking to convert my tractor to 4wd, any help or info would be very helpful. Thanks

I have some pictures I will try and upload on here and get some new ones. The tractor is in running condition although it burns and leaks a bit of oil. The loader is incredible strong. The guy I bought it from never had the drive shaft on it. I am missing some parts for connecting the drive shaft. I'm going to have to contact Tony about some manuals for it and parts. I'm hoping that it doesn't have something wrong internally. The tractor needs some tlc but I definitely think its worth the work once I can find time to get to it.

"you have to upload them to a site like Photobucket and link to them in your post"

Many people do it this way, then they have them for any forum
that they visit. Very convenient to have them everywhere, but
you can upload them directly to this site in your post if you prefer.

Under Advanced Posting Tools click Upload Photo.

Then click Choose File. Once you've found the picture click Upload.

Then the part that seems to get missed most often, once you
see the thumbnail image in the little box, click Continue.
