3600 Carb Flooding

Our 3600 doesn't want to start, hasn't been used the whole winter. When you try to start it the gas just flows out the bottom of the carb bowl. Any ideas what to do. Thanks

"...the gas just flows out the bottom of the carb bowl."

that's not a very good description - - does it leak out where the air filter hose attaches to the carb? out the bottom where there is a plate that 4 screws hold in place? is the drain plug installed? -

if it was running fine when it was parked, I'd suspect the float is stuck - - first thing I'd do is tap on the side of the carb with a plastic hammer while cranking the engine and see that'll loosen things up -

Thanks for the reply, and yes you are right, we did not check it out good enough. Will do that first thing in the morning. Forgot about the float maybe being stuck, will definitely try tapping it. Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

Just to follow up, the float was the problem. Drained the gas and put fresh gas in, ran rough for awhile but it straightened out and ran fine. Thanks for your help. Roy
