Power steering fluid

I'm losing power steering fluid. I have a Ford 3600, can't see any leaks. No drips under the tractor. When I fill the reservoir, doesn't take but a couple hours and can't reach with finger.
Since I've started keeping the reservoir full I have a leak from the exhaust. A very black and thick oily substance that wasn't present before I filled the reservoir.
Can the fluid get into the oil? I checked the oil this morning and it is a bit above the fill mark! I've changed all fluids and filters accept the power steering.
Thanks, for all the help from you-all!

The shaft seal is letting ps oil into eng. p s oil will not be good in adiesel it is a diesel my 3550 did same thing. easy to reseal

As fordfever said, front seal of pump is probably leaking p/s fluid into crankcase. Check the engine oil level and smell it. If the oil level is high and it smells like whatever fluid you're using in the p/s reservoir, change the oil and don't run the tractor until you fix the leak in the pump.

Yep, front pump seal, have the pump off of a neighbors 5030 to replace the seals, said he was loosing ps fluid but couldn't find the leak, when I pulled the dip stick the crank case was 2 qrts over full.

Thanks, I've researched the pump and planning to replace filter. Sounds like I need to remove the pump and replace gaskets. Does the rebuild kit have what I need to fix? Or is the seal a different item? I believe fluid is getting into the oil. Looks like another filter and couple gallon oil. Tractor has a history of neglect. The inner air filter had the 1979 filter until I changed it. Don't think the fuel filter was changed as it was still the ford blue. Plug for hydraulic full level was in place but the machined screw below that plug was missing. I didn't know until while filling fluid started pouring out. Thanks to this forum I learned how to replace that screw. Now I'll get to learn how to fix the ps pump! Thanks again for this helpful forum!

Great, I was in hopes a number was missed! Easy enough to do. Actually I found a bundle with both for under 30.00.
