5000 Row Crop followed me home

Runs like a sewing machine, clutch seems strong, shifts good, pto lever either inoperable or doesn't shut off, lift don't work, one axle seal leaking and steering column is loose somehow but still works.... other than those major problems I'd say it is in top shape  [/i]

A Sucker born ever minute... luckily got it cheap enough nobody wanted to work on it.

Oh and the left brake pedal goes all way to the floor and the left one works great....

Should be good for another 40 yrs

Nice haul limbhanger, its what they call a 5200,I have two of them, both with the 256 ci diesels. My Dad bought the first one in 1975, had
1200 hrs on it, and has a wide front.I have driven it for 42 years, we used to grow 'bacca', and the 5200 used to have a 2 row front mount
cultivator on it.In 2005 i sent it into a shop and it received an engine and clutch overhaul($$$) In 2006, a 1968 5200 followed me home. It
was a rare factory narrow front end , it came with front cultivators and i put it to work cultivating and do other jobs around the farm. They
are an excellent tractor and have and will give you years of service. I dont think you will be disappointed in your find......john

Dunno why anybody would want such a goofball
tractor. Unless they are a little odd
themselves.
I have a little sister to yours - a 4200 and
like it a lot. So I guess I'm a little odd
too.
Yours looks real nice and you didn't
describe any thing major that needs fixing
so you'll have it straightened out in no
time.
Congrats on a nice score.

I pic up one two weeks ago..
they have a narrow than normal front bolster and different holes, so a front loader mount might be tricky. And the step is a long ways for a shorty like me...Otherwise a great tractor.

Looks like a cousin to mine. I have 18" front tires tho and just my PTO clutch is out. Great
tractor and very capable for a lot jobs. Congrats on a good buy!! Greg NE

If you would like to see your hearing, get rid of that round muffler. An oval muffler from the 5600/6600/7600 will deaden the sound and also get
the exhaust up higher and out of your face. You will not regret the change!

Relative of mine, got it 6-7 years ago at auction for $5400.

The engine is probably a little tired but it's run well, I put more hours on that tractor than any other on my place every year, perfect utility size for
planting, harrowing, spraying, the disk mower, round baler, small square baler, round bale moving with the 3pt, some wagon moving. It's
hooked up to something year around. My Ford 7700 splits some of the duties with it.

The clutch started slipping 2 years ago, got that replaced and some other bits in there that looked a bit worn.

Heck of a useful tractor. I knew I wanted one years ago; took maybe 5 years to find one finally.

Previous owner welded a strap on the left run to add a second step, not a perfect deal but I keep using it..... They are a high step for sure!

I have 5000 AP. Looked for years for one. Would like to have a 5200 diesel SOS with tricyle front with lovered hood. I knew of newer one with wide front and have thought about looking it up. He has some older tractors if he hasn't let them go.
