Push Rod Side Cover Gasket Question - Ford 850

I purchased a push rod side cover gasket here on YT. The one I took off my 850 was a solid sheet with the 3 bolt holes in it. The new one has a rectangular section cut out of it almost the size of a business card. Otherwise fits perfectly.

Here is link. I installed it just as shown, with hole towards the top.

Correct

With the cutout hole at the top the gasket forms a pocket between the cover and gasket which will fill up with splash oil that can't get out. With the hole at the bottom any splash oil that gets in there will run back out to the crankcase.

(quoted from post at 18:21:57 03/11/17) So....if my side cover gasket has no hole, I have nothing to worry about regarding splash oil?
They still could get a little oil thru the 3 bolt hole openings that would build up over time. That's why the drain back hole was added to the later style gaskets.
