a friend of mine has a Ford 2000. He knows nothing about and would like to learn more about it. I was over there today and took a pic of the numbers on the block. I'm having a hard time figuring out the year. See the pic i attached and help me identify this tractor

"B" prefix makes it built in Europe. It falls in 79 s/n for US. Just above what is cleaned off is more #. So it would be a 2600?

There's another set of numbers just above the ones cleaned off, I can see the impression of them in the dust, these numbers give the model, chassis, fuel, pto and trans info.
Those numbers and maybe a pic of the entire tractor would help.
European serial numbers don't correspond with US numbers and I have no info on european ser #.

If it is a -000 series it was built March 29 1969.

The Basildon tractors had two serial number ranges, one for tractors intended for the "domestic" UK market and another one for the "export" market. The export tractor serial numbers started at B000001 and went up from there, and the Domestic numbers started at B800001 and went up from there, so B864758 for the serial number on a 2000 model tractor would be correct.

9C29 means that it left the factory in Basildon on March 29, 1969.

The model number that's still covered by the muck looks to be B1013B, which would be an ag chassis 2000 with a diesel engine, live PTO and a 6 speed transmission.

Thanks Sean for the info..next time i'm over there i will wipe off the dirt and verify that top set of numbers. It does have a low/high range but not sure about the amount of gears. It is for sure a 3 cyl. diesel
