#2 terminal spade, loop to charge stud. #1 thru a 194 lamp to coil side of ignition.

Key on, lamp on, once running and over about 450 rpm, lamp should go out and she should charge.

Charge stud should go to/thru your amp meter then to bat hot. All loads like lights and ignition should be wired to the side of the amp meter where the alternator hooks to.

Key on, points closed, should show slight discharge.. After start and rev up, charge.

This assumes you have a center 0 ammeter, and have it wired for net charge/discharge like I instructed.

Grampa love,
Soundguy has the wiring nailed.
Looking at the picture though, I question if that plug is fully inserted.
The wires look a little "krispy" too.
If the plug is in, check voltage at the charge stud. You should see battery voltage there.
If you start it up, then just touch that loose wire on the charge stud, that should energize the alternator.
If the Alternator is good, it should charge.
