Ford 6610 Questions

About a week ago we bought a 1984 Ford 6610, 8 Forward and 4 reverse. The tractor slips out of most of the odd gears. We bought a manual for the tractor and when looking in the manual for fluids, we were only able to find the power steering: Ford M-2C41A oil. Is there any other type that comes close to that? We were not able to find anything close to that. A problem that we had when getting the tractor is that the power steering is very hard (manual steering is easier) to turn left.

Thank you

Look under the floor you will see 2 shafts they use plastic bushings look at the outer one my guess one or both bushings have slipped out of place. The first I would do on the steering is change the filter.

New Holland 134 hydraulic oil or an equivalent. Use for power steering and the transmission/hydraulic rservoir. Change the p/s filter before
adding fluid.

Thank you, I will check tomorrow, the tractor has almost 8000
hours on it. Before we got it, we were told that it turns hard to
the left. When we have the wheels off the ground it turns a lot
easier

Found the problem of the power steering.

We are currently looking for a part that the dealers don't sell. Anyone know what the code is? If not we would need to get a new steering column (seems cheaper than the kit).

Anyone know where I could by the part? I have already called up a few salvage yards and they told me they didn't have the part.
