850 selector lever position / lift arms dropping

When I have the brushog attached, the hydraulic system lifts high when the touch control is put in the up position. Then the lift arms slowly drop in about 10-15 seconds. I can pull up the selector lever on the right side below the seat and it lifts right back up again, only to slowly lower down to the ground.

Is the selector lever supposed to stay in the vertical position to control the raise and lowering of the arms with the touch control lever? That's what the manual seems to be telling me, but the selector lever will not stay vertical, it has tension pulling it back down when released.

Could this loss of hydraulic pressure also be due to the wrong weight of oil?

The selector lever should stay in the set position.

It sounds like the cork friction disc on the touch control shaft is worn out or, more likely, missing.

Patiently remove the nut on the touch control shaft and the touch control lever and replace the disc.

It's a little ambiguous, Dean, but I don't believe he's saying the touch control lever is dropping. I think it's staying put.

I'd guess he needs to look at a lift cover overhaul, paying particular attention to the cam follower pin.

Are you talking about the draft/position control selector circled?
Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but on the 850 I thought
this lever was either horizontal for position control or pushed
down to a near vertical position for draft control.
It wasn't supposed to flip up vertically like they did on the 8N.

Yes the lever in the circle is what I'm talking about. I don't believe it will go down to make it vertical and won't stay in the up position.

Bummer. Seems like it would have trouble lifting the 3 point if that was the issue. It lifts fast just won't hold the arms in place very long with a load on it.
