NAA pto shaft

I just purchased a NAA and noticed the pto shaft was the normal size while my jubilee has the small one. Did they change the shaft in 54 or did someone just put in the normal size? Also did ford change the rear wheel centers on the 54 or use the ones like the 8n's. Thanks Ed

just about every aftermarket company offered a shaft kit to bring the old ones up to 1 3/8"

I think the shaft change was around '56/'57 so your NAA would have had the smaller 1 1/8" shaft when purchased. The Jub/NAA would have had the same style hat rims with full disc that the 8n's had.

Dad's 56 850 had the small shaft, we ran it with a adapter for years before upgrading it.

there is also a pin on stub adapter that, unless you look close, might appear to be the larger shaft. it's a fuully enclosing one, not the little sheet metal sleeves.
