Hydraulic Sump Cover

Replaced the relief valve in my 641 Workmaster and was ready to bolt up the cover when I noticed the locating pin in the cover has a
groove for an o-ring? Didn't have one when I pulled it off and didn't find one in the sump. Looking at the parts blow-up I do not see a
pin in the cover as illustrated. Anyone have experience with this? I see an o-ring listed, .674 i.d X .103 thick but I think that is for
the valve itself. Help appreciated!

I believe the o ring you describe is the one for the guide pin, if not used ,you will have a leak. The relief valve itself uses no o ring. Metal to metal fit.

Sorry about that. Was thinking of the NAA. Ben a while since I have seen a 100 series but am till thinking there is a stud on the plate with a o ring and gasket to seal it. NO???

The relief valve actually has two o-rings, already in place as the new valve came from the vendor. The pin I am speaking of is part of the sump cover. When installed, the pin fits into a bore in the main casting and is next to the bore that accepts the relief valve.

Both the relief valve and guide pin have O-rings.

Do yourself a big favor and use the correct gasket when replacing the relief valve cover. Yes, it's expensive and you will need to order it from CNH.

Do not use goop. If you do, excess goop will find its way into the pump valves.
