144 diesel question

I am working on a friend's 641 diesel. It has the 144 diesel. Thanks to all the info here I now know that it will be almost impossible to find parts
to rebuild the engine. I am gonna see about getting a 172 to swap. I am wondering if the injector pump off the 144 will work on the 172? Also,
all the info I read on the 144 says that is a sleeved engine. I am pretty sure this engine does not have sleeves. Casting number is B9nn 6015 A.

You can still get many of the parts for this from your local NH dealer...just go in with a big roll of cash and the expectation to leave with a much smaller roll.

Looking at the NH parts site the pumps look to be different. DPKN9A543A for the 172 and DPKN9A543BR on the 144.

Yes fuel settings are different but it will fit.
My 881D's pump started leaking around the throttle shaft, while it was off getting fixed we installed one of my brothers 671D pumps inorder to use the tractor, didn't need full power.

The 144 and the 172 both use .29" diameter pump-plungers, so it seems there is no problem swapping with a few adjustments.
