What is proper mount for front of gas tank on 640?

Hello all. I have a 640 stripped down, way down, to paint it. Tractor was very rough and had been cobbled on in a big way. This was/is my
father's project and he is the one who did the the disassembly about a year ago. Needless to say what hardware goes where is like a jigsaw
puzzle. A huge mishmash of factory and hardware store stuff. Of the six 7/16" course bolts that hold on the lower rear panel and battery tray,
no two are exactly alike. That said I have no idea of how the slotted hole in the front of the gas tank is supposed to be attached. I looked at my
850 and it has a small heavy spring around what looks like about a 7/16" X 3" fine threaded bolt with a split edged locknut and maybe some
fender washers. Have had the 850 since 1977 and think that may be the proper method since it is a mostly unmolested unit. But of course the
tanks are different between the 640 and 850. I do think the front mount may be the similar if not the same, but in my can of bolts I have a
similar bolt and locknut combo but the bolt is much shorter so no room for a spring. If it is in fact 7/16" fine it was probably not something the
average guy would just have lying around. I also have a bunch of non-standard stuff that might possibly been there. Anyone know exactly
what is supposed to be there. All my tank brackets and heat shields had cracks in them and I'm thinking having the tank mounted too solid may
be the cause since the heat shield mounts to both the tank and the engine brackets. Thanks.

the official New Holland online parts store diagram specifies a 3/8"-16 X 7/8"long carriage head bolt in the front securing position, with a rubber washer between the tank bracket and the engine bracket, and then a lock washer and nut - no spring -

Thanks for the replies. I didn't know the parts breakdowns are online for these models. Looks like I'm just missing the rubber washer. I think I have the carriage bolt. I looked up the breakdown on the 850 also and the spring is correct for it. Makes one wonder why they'd use two different style of mounts between the two. I did see that they are 3/8" and not 7/16". Not easy to see up there in the dark. Thanks again.
