961 starter solenoid

I am working on a 961, has been updated to 12V, but all wiring is missing now, but I plan to rewire it. The solenoid is missing, it looks like the solenoid works by grounding. The solenoids listed on the site look like a regular energizing kind. How do I find the correct one?

It also has an old hitachi alternator on it, that might be internal regulator, but have not looked at it yet.

The original 6V solenoid closed when the control coil terminal was grounded.

Who knows what is on it now.

The correct solenoid in 12 volts is Ford part # 311006
One of the small terminals gets power from the key switch.
The other small terminal goes to the transmission starter button.
Pushing the starter button grounds the wire.

If you would rather buy it local ask for Napa # ST542 or BWD # S103

It looks just like the power to start car solenoids but is wired different.
