Ford 2000 shuts off intermently

I have been trying to resolve an issue where my Ford 2000 shuts off while using. Once it shuts off, it usually will start back up although more recently it takes quite a few minutes. I have checked the fuel system and carb and no issues. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Check for something blocking the fuel flow from the tank. Mine did that until I finally took the sediment bowl off and found a leaf stuck in the passage where it couldn't be seen.

I had one tractor when the coil got hot it would quit, I poured some water over it to cool it off it would start up. Replaced the coil with a new one, no more problems.

Try unscrewing the fuel cap (slowly and carefully) when the problem happens. If it starts back up immediately then the problem may be the vent in the fuel cap is clogged.

As ptfarmer said, the coil could be going bad. They usually start to act up only when hot, but over time they get worse.

could be the coil, has happened to several of mine over the years, runs good, then after warm up the tractor quits until it cools back down...

Which 2000? Four cylinder or three?

If four cylinder, replace the ignition switch.

Like JTWAT said... at moment of stall.. check spark. if spark is good.. start investigating fuel.

Post back.

It is a 4 cylinder. I did go through the entire fuel system and the fuel is good. Did not check the spark although I did replace the coil. Since coil replacement, it has not done it although only had it going for 40 minutes. Next step will be the spark if needed. Thanks for all the good ideas.
