New to forum. Could someone please tell me the amperage going to the manifold heater plugs. tractor has been converted to 12 volt system. push button is bad just wanted to use a toggle switch for heater plug.

"Manifold heater plugs?" Sounds like you have a diesel engine. If so, the tractor came from the factory 12 volts. Don't think you want a toggle switch using 30 amps, I believe, without looking. That heating system is designed for interment use not continuous use. You probably could build a fire that you can't get stopped!!

RPlum,
Welcome to YT.
As Wayne says, it sounds like you have a
diesel.
I can't say how much current those things
draw but suspect it's quite a bit.
The original setup used a momentary type
push button switch to activate a solenoid
which in turn supplied the power to the
heaters. If at all possible I would keep it
that way.

Keep the push button. It activates a solenoid mounted on back side of battery box. You can hear it click when energized. You can check the heat plugs for continuity with an ohm meter or feel them get warm when energized. If one is bad you can replace them from NAPA for about a third or less than one from NH. I think one I bought was a Champoin brand. They are very effective but don't do something stupid by using a toggle.

thanks guys was was going to put a mom toggle that would go back to off position. but i am young and dumb. My push button is bad by the gear shift that is why i was going to put something else on. may go with key switch that will toggle back for accessories but will not stay in that position like some of the newer tractors. Thanks for all your help just did not know if the momentary toggle would work because of too much amperage. The toggle i was going to use does not lock in any on position.
Thanks

A momentary toggle that snapped back to off
would work fine.
I thought you meant a toggle that snapped to
on and stayed there - and assume the others
did too.

Just get a new push button switch to replace the old one, most places that sell toggle switch's can also get push button's.

Edit: You said the push button next to the shifter, a 851 is a 5 spd with the shifter mounted onto the transmission top, if your talking about the large push button next to that shifter that's the starter button, not the manifold heater button.
On my 881 the manifold heater button is located up under the left side hood panel near the key switch.
