3000 diesel fuel lines #$#%^

What tool(s) do you guys use to tighten the fittings on the injector lines to keep them from leaking?

Back story... 71 3000 diesel CAV pump. Last summer I noticed the bottom injector line was leaking at the fitting on the pump. I tried my best to tighten it but was unable to stop the leak. This winter I ordered a new set of injector lines from this site, removed the banjo fittings to be sure they were OK and installed new seals plus the new injector lines. BTW: aftermarket lines are a real chore to install, they don't fit near as well as they should. Had to re-bend everyone to get them on.

Anyway, now all three are leaking at the pump fittings, you can just barely get an open end wrench on the fittings much less something like a crows foot that would allow you to really tighten the durn things. Can't even get to the top rear one without first taking off the one in front of it.

So what's the trick to getting these fittings tight enough to keep them from leaking?

Thinking of sacrificing a socket, maybe cut one side out kinda like a crows foot and weld a handle on the other side. Maybe I can get it on the fittings and be able to tighten them up.

Are the leaks at the line nuts, or the two banjo bolts washers? Delphi mild steel washers seal easier than the hard steel Stanadyne washers do. I've got some bent wrenches for problem leaks like this.

Pretty sure it's the fuel line fittings. Was able to get a socket on the banjo bolts before installing the lines and they are pretty durn tight. Hard to really say as the whole area around all three lines is wet.

Appreciate your input, am sure you have had allot more experience with this stuff than I have.
If this had just started I would concur it may be the pump itself but before I replaced the lines I only had one small leak at the bottom line fitting. Really doubt it's the pump itself.

Headed out to the shop to install a new temp sensor and will see what I can do about tightening up the fittings.

Was able to get another 1/4 turn on all 3 tube fittings finagling with normal wrenches, tractor is ready to come out of the shop. Little later today I'll pull it out and hook up my tiller. If the weather holds, tomorrow I'm going to till the acre I plowed last week to level it out.

Keeping fingers crossed that the little snug up helped with the leaks.
