I received new fuel guage and sending unit from this site today. The original guage on my 63 Ford 2000 had only two terminals for the wires, whereas the new guage has three. Looking at rear of guage, top left terminal is marked B, top right terminal is marked T, lower center terminal has a 6V sticker by it. Can someone enlighten me as to where wire goes from sender and where the wire goes from key terminal side? The B & T are stamped in back and the 6V is a paper sticker. Thanks in advance for help!

I'm guessing that the B terminal goes to the battery, T goes to the Tank (sender) and 6v is for a built in illumination light, which gets its ground through the housing to the sheet metal of the dash.

Thanks for the replies, in relation to terminals on back, the light has its own spade on back of socket for current. As for help from seller, was from this site, also purchased fuel tank, valve and line from YT also, had a question about one item, they told me that was what the discussion forum is for. Did not want to wire it wrong and mess something up. Six volt system not that quick to mess something up I guess. Thanks again for the help. Leon

So there's actually 4 terminals if you count the one for the light? Then perhaps the other one is the ground for the light in case you install it into a painted dash that doesn't give a good ground to the housing?

Got some help today from YT to diagnose problem. Had to get granddaughter from school, so going try again tomorrow to get gauge to work.
