Made where?

Ordered a couple of transmission bearings (NDA77125A, NDA7701A) for my 960 from a bearing house here on the 'net.
The man asked what brand they were and I replied Bower. Yesterday two bearings came , they were Bower bearings and said on them, MADE IN THE USA. What a surprise! And the bearing company is from California!! $100! Ya, but that one bearing is kinda special.

Hi Wayne; read your post about trans bearing for your 960 so I assume you're rebuilding it. I need to replace the 3rd reverse coupler in my 850, but only have experience with a 3 speed in a 49 Ford from years ago. Don't know that it will be that difficult, but would appreciate any hints you can give. TIA

Hi! Weather the 49 Ford refers to a car or tractor, similarities disappear,in either case. In order to get to the couplers on 5 speed, all being the same, and all on the bottom, counter shaft, everything comes out of the transmission case, including the shifter shaft. The interlock plate can be left. Really not that hard, pretty much straight forward. My email is open if you should need help.
