9700 Low oil pressure

Tractor has 40 psi cold, 5 psi when hot no excessive leakage from bearings when oil gallery had pressure applied, Air appears to leak higher up at rear of engine. Pointers? Thanks. J.

The last time I worked on a 9700 with low oil pressure, I found the relief valve spring inside the pump in two pieces.

If it's not that, and you think you have a leak high up and in the rear, it could be the rear oil gallery plug come loose. Not very likely, but I suppose it's possible.

The two oil pressure killers main bearings and cam bearings.
