I have a 7000 ford split working on the pto have installed new pto clutch but the control valve and the support leak I hooked my air too the valve and it leaks is this anykind normal I need all the help I can get the books I have are pretty vague.

What do you call 'leak'? The control valve has a pressure regulating valve to limit maximum circuit pressure. It's supposed to be set at 160-180 psi at a fast idle speed.... but from what I've seen it's not uncommon for them to crack at 150... so that may be within your air pressure range.
As far as the support goes.... IIRC, it depends on the model year in terms o f how it's sideload is set. The later style has a rear anchor bolt and a front anchor set screw. That front screw is set to 6 inch-lb or something small like that. If you over tighten it you set the support out of line and it will destroy the sealing surfaces and leak.. Beyond that basically get the thing running, warm the oil up and test the PTO circuit pressure at it's test port. Should make 160-180 at 1100 rpm.
Removing the lift cover and diverting the main pump flow can help find the leaks...

As Bern says, air will leak past the seals. If the support isn't grooved and the seals are properly installed and intact, it's most likely OK. An air test should provide a crisp 'snap' of the clutch piston locking up the pack even with the typical air leakage.

I filled the line with oil and hooked my air(110 psi). I can still turn the hub gear inside the clutch pack there is oil leaking out between the valve and support, between support and clutch close to the clutch side. and out around the control rod by the clip . I cannot feel any groves in the support my tractor has two support pin. my book say 2 -5 foot pounds. do back first then front one.

before i split the tractor I tested the line out put to the duel power which is the same pump and had 150 to 170 psi. my tractor does have two pins, the book say too tight back one first then front and 2 - 5 foot pounds. before I split the tractor I took side cover off and it looked like the oil was coming down from the valve area .
I wanted to check every thing I could before i put back together.

Anything more than about 75 psi of air pressure should lock that pack up well beyond what you should be able to overcome manually.

should I go ahead and get a new support and valve system for it. I took it over to my sons shop and he has 150psi air did the same thing filled hose with oil then put air pressure to it and i could still turn hub inside clutch pack setting on the bench.

I'd be concerned that there is something wrong with the clutch if you can't force engagement with 150 pounds of air. I think I'd probably take that apart again and see what's going on... If the support isn't grooved up and the sealing rings are intact it should work.

I agree with Rick - test the clutch pack directly. With the proper rubber tip, properly supported, there should be only a "thunk" as the piston moves into contact with the clutch plates. After that, you should hear nothing. Let go of the handle and hold. You should hear nothing. Pull nozzle away - you should hear a column of air release.

Thanks I pulled the support off the clutch pack and tried the air direct to the holes in the back of the clutch pack. you can hear the air leaking by and I can still turn the hub inside the clutch. one hole you can hear the air coming in to the clutch and the other hole the air comes out the hole where one of the prongs for the trust washer. That clutch pack was new last winter and it worked for 80 small bales of hay then quit. I'm sure learning a lot about this with all of you guy's input.

Thanks again ever one

Hi Again Ok I took the clutch pack apart ,removed the compressing piston return spring. But I cannot get the piston to move, I put air (110-psi) to the hole in the clutch housing hub but the air leaks around the out side seal of the piston. I took my old one apart and it came right out with the air and that seal was pretty shot . I also tried to slam the housing down on a board tell my arm got tied
didn't move a bit.
Anybody got a way to get it out without damaging it?????????

Ok I got the ford 7000 put back together. the PTO works when engaged and off when disengaged . But when you put the tractor on high side of the duel power the PTO starts to turn. I'm really confused on this because the little pump puts pressure to the duel power and PTO through different lines with different control valves.
