I have a 1968 Ford 5000 256 GAS tractor. Engine is shot. I have a beautiful, 1993 model, low hour, 256 diesel complete from fan to flywheel. Will it readily bolt in and operate in my old 5000 without any issues? Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

Fuel tank will need return line put in filler neck. Throttle linkage. Air cleaner tubes and possibly air cleaner. Need diesel starter other than that will bolt rite in. May be other issues but cant think of rite now.

More or less.... Depending on what the donor was, there may be differences in the flywheel clutch bolt patterns and drive hub. Beyond that
hooking up the intake will probably pose the greatest challenge since the gas engine used a dry filter over the engine... so you've got some
reworking to do there and on the throttle linkage... but beyond that the engine will physically bolt up just fine. Also, as mentioned... you
need to add a fuel return and diesel fuel filters.
