94 ford Shuttle shift transmission

My issue is while driving forward it (seems) to down shift. Reverse acts/reverses normal. I am checking voltage at the Solenoids in the transmission. Tractor not running battery voltage only. Forward/drive solenoid in neutral position has 1.5vdc, forward selected 12.5vdc and reverse selected 3.8vdc. Reverse solenoid in neutral position has 3.7vdc, reverse 12.5vdc and forward 6.0vdc. Tractor running voltage under the dash in harness. Drive white wire has 5.9vdc when neutral and reverse selected, drive selected 14.5vdc. Reverse yellow wire has .8vdc in neutral and drive, reverse selected 14.5vdc. It's a 555d apparently not many people know any about.

sorry voltage on yellow and white wire where wrote down wrong they need to be switched. Reverse Yellow wire has 5.9vdc in neutral and drive.

I am working on a ford 555d backhoe. I was thinking reverse solenoid was coming on while in drive. I just reassembled with reverse solenoid disconnected and I still had the same problem.

So, basically forget the electrical part, what would cause my trans to bind up while driving, forward only. It's like while driving it's going in and out of low range or down shifting. There is no low range on this tractor and it can't be automatically switch gears. I know y'all don't know about a 555d backhoe surely this trans or similar is in a tractor.

I don't have any working knowledge on the 555D, I do have the factory service manual on the Four Spd Power Reversing trans in the 5550 if it's the same trans.
That model is a four spd manual with a torque convertor, forward and reverse clutch packs and a shuttle valve for selecting forward or reverse.
The only difference may be the older models have mechanical shuttle shift and yours is electric but I'm not 100% sure.

You say it's binding and slowing down, when it does this is the engine loading up like it's pulling harder or is the tractor just slowing down with no change in the engine.
Does it do this in all gears or more so in higher gears.
Is it a quick jerky slow down or is it more prolonged lasting a few seconds or more.

no change in engine speed. Kinda a whining from the gears while slowing down. If I put it in neutral and then put it back in gear it start acting right for a little bit. If I let up on the throttle and lay back into it it seems to straighten up for a little while. Sometimes it hunts quick in and out but most of the time it just slows down. I found two solenoids on top of trans that supply a ground once both solenoids are closed due to pressure. Very curious where and what the ground is used for. Bench checked both solenoids, manually they seem to work. The ground side of the harness has 30ohms of resistance don't really like that. I would like to give the other wire a hardwire good ground and drive it but afraid it might jack something up.

Sounds electrical to me, could be weak solenoid dropping out for a moment, but most times they don't kick in and out rapidly.
More likely a wire or switch issue, won't be able to help much as my books aren't new enough to cover your electrical controls.

From working on other equipment with electronic shift I'd look at the switch to see if it's worn and temporarily losing contact when the tractor is moving.
The tractor bouncing and shaking around going down the road can cause lose of contact in switches and wiring that is hard to find when setting still.

This morning I switched wiring around at the solenoid put reverse wire on drive side still had the same issue. Next move is swapping solenoids. Then put pressure gauges on it. I have no idea what pressure gauges to use 100psi 500psi 1000psi not sure. Yes I know what you mean about vibration and electrical problems. I am a helicopter mechanic and it's a nightmare somtimes. Thanks for your help I really appreciate it.
