jubilee rear rims

I use rustoleum hammered silver. It will get you pretty close to original.

Most metallic and/or aluminum shaded paints will dull and rub off with your thumb within 5 years or less. I found a very good paint specifically for wheels, sold by CASE/IH called Silver Argent. I have done several sets of original hat rims with it and it looks great and has withstood the test of time and field use.

I am with Tim. The aluminum paint looks red neck. Some people insist that they were originally galvanized, but I have had a bunch of rims around here and have never found any galvanizing under the paint.

I used Rustoleum hammered silver too, but not the spray cans!
You can spray or brush on what comes in the quart cans. It looks fine
either way because once it "hammers" there are no brush streaks left.

I had not heard that they were galvanized showcrop.
Was always told they were cadmium plated.
But then, I wasn't around when the N's were new to know.
