I'd say around $500 maybe a tad bit more if the tires are real good. One never knows why it was parked and if told why is it the truth. Could well have a bad engine

As young fella Old says you don't know what could be wrong so you need to allow for engine rebuild transmission rebuild, and hydraulic rebuild. So start at $500.00 and add for good tires.

long story,i'll try and shorten it.
eng bars over.shows 3068hrs,tractor belongs to a woman my wife worked for for 10yrs.womans dad bought it new.was only used to brush hog some after dad passing.parked because of lazyness, having someone else do it with their equipment.woman had a stroke after heart surgery.we moved all of her belongings of the farm as the bank took it back.tractor and a few wore out implements are at our place.grandson is POA,22 years old.says tractor is worth $5500.00,will sell to us for $4500.00

A non running tractor is a parts tractor. Parts tractors are generally worth $500 - $1,000.

Tell POA grandson to advertise it and sell it himself for $4,500.

Even running it is not worth $4500 even if the tires are brand new. You can buy a tractor in that size range all day long for under $3000.

Where are you located? You can't buy a running Ford tractor with good bones around here for less than $2k. It would be a serious beater if so. Too many people use them to cut their grass so there is a good market for them.

Not running maybe $1500 in my neck of the woods. People know what the parts are worth.

NOT worth $4500. That is for sure.

I got my '73 4000 gas engine S-O-S tractor here in southeastern PA with a 5 foot Woods heavy duty rotary mower included for $1735 about 8 years ago off of ebay. It was about 17 miles from my house. Ran great when I got it but tires looked to be original. Front tri-ribs down to about 10% tread left and rear ags at about 40 to 50% tread left but sidewalls were checked from age and the shoulders of the ribs were crumbling from dry rot.

Doesn't have much going for it in my book, 4 spd trans, trans pto, non power steering. I'm a diesel guy myself but not going to knock the gas engine.
It's a $2500-$3000 tractor running at best. 8 spd trans, live pto, power steering add a lot of value to these tractors, this one has none of those features.
If the back tires are good it's worth maybe a $1000, $1500 if you think it's a good risk, last two gas tractors I bought that had been setting for a while where locked up and had to be rebuilt.
One I converted to Diesel, the other I parted out.

You need to invoice that grandson ASAP for moving and storage by the day. Tell him that he needs to move it NOW!! You can find far better deals in every county in the country every day of the year.

I agree... and make the current total for the moving and storage $4000.00, and tell him that if it's still there at the end of the month it will be $4500.00... And that since he's insisting on not going any lower than $4500.00 on the selling price... wow... what a coincidence... he already owes you what he's asking for the tractor. If he agrees to sell it to you before the end of the month you pay him $500.00, if not, he either owes you the $4500.00 or you get the tractor for free.

It's certainly a Plain Jane but still a
worthy tractor.
My first 3 cylinder Ford was a close sister
to that one - 68 2000 with 4 speed and
armstrong steering.
I found it to be a big step up from the Ford
N Series tractors I had been running and did
a lot of work with it.
1st gear is a little fast but I didn't have
a problem with it.
Good tires and sheet metal are worth
something.
If I needed it $1500 would not be too high.
By the way, never, ever trust the hours on
one of those 65-75 Thousand Series. They
failed early and often.
Keep us updated. We like those tractors
here.

I don't know where you're located, but it isn't worth $4500 running.

I'm in Michigan. I have bought three similar tractors in the past
few years. One a good running 3000 gasser, 8sp, live PTO, power
steering, usable tires. Another a running, but needing engine
rebuilt 3000 gasser, 8sp, live PTO, PS with remote hydraulics,
new turf tires all the way around. And the third a 335 industrial
diesel, 6sp, non-live PTO, power steering, remote hydraulics, Four
Seasons brand cab with all the glass good and foam filled tires.
Runs good but needing the clutch replaced.
All three combined didn't cost me $4500 and two included delivery.

I passed on a 335I gas parts tractor at $450. It had a broken
connecting rod that scored a cylinder wall but didn't go through.
Last I knew it was still for sale. Maybe when the weather warms up.
