What is your opinion of this model, 17 yrs old with like 1700 hrs on tractor. It is 4-wh drive appears to have sat outside from looks of it's paint. Think these were all diesel engines. Currently has front loader. Since appears to always had this loader from new would these hrs indicate the clutch would likely be close to need replacement. Any known problems with this model or engine. What about PTO. Would be used for mowing and 5 ft bush hogging mainly in warmer weather.

Shibaura built it for Ford .I thinkin that it's a least 25 years or more old. As said in the past, parts are getting to be scares and expensive. They were a good tractor and a lot were sold. Most if not all were 9 speed with shuttle shift.

Good Luck

Parts site says the 2120 4 cylinder compact model was made form 01/87-12/02, which is a 16 year span, so it could be as old as 30 years old or as young as 14 plus a month or two.

With that long of a production run and the fact that it was made as recently as 14 years ago gives it a higher probability of parts availability than other earlier Shibaura made models.

Parts site shows a HSS transmission in addition to a 12x4 manual. I'm not sure what HSS stands for, as they usually use HST to designate hydrostatic.

The vast majority sold where I work were HSS /EHSS 12x12 models. Only a handful of 9x3's.
