prior 2000 engine swap

Don't know if I've posted here about this latest project or not...
Saw a Owatonna 35 swather advertised last summer, "make an offer, want it gone". A month later, the ad was still there, so I bought it. 134 Red Tiger Industrial on it. (I remember asking about casting numbers before I went to look) Then I found a '62 2000 with a rod through the block. Went back and forth with the owner on price, but eventually bought it.
High today was 2 degrees, so I didn't do much on it, but I was thinking... Usually I'd take the drag links and radius rods off at the rear, but with the factory p/s and those skinny hard lines, I'm thinking I might be time and hassles ahead by taking them off the front?
I also have a choice of going 6V or 12V. 2000 still has factory 6V system. Industrial has 12V system. Leaning towards 12V - "stealth" conversion with a generator. Anything to watch out for? Gas gauge will have to be changed...or left not working. Industrial has an electric temp gauge. Haven't checked if the 2000 has an electric or old style with the bulb and line. Grab the gauge off the swather?
And your opinion on paint... The industrial is Ford red, while the 2000 has a surprisingly nice original coat of blue. I'm going to leave the engine red. Two reasons: It's too cold to paint, and I don't want it to look like I'm trying to hide anything. Not big what to do questions, mostly just looking for opinions.

Does it have a spot or opening for a mechanical fuel pump?
You can buy a chrome-plated cover for it. Did yours come with a Sherman O/U?

I have an NAA that blew No 1 rod out the block. How'd yours go?
Mine took out the oil pump and camshaft on the way, but I have
patched the block. It might hold. Number one rod journal was ground
.010 undersize. Left the others.

Yes, it has a fuel pump. Will need to buy or make a cover.
Straight 4-speed.
#1 let go on this one, too. Cap is off the rod, rod went through the block on the left - away from the cam. Will see it it hit anything else in a couple days.
