I'm guessing there's a prior thread relating to this one?

Nope just had the radiator out to repair a crack in the top so i had easy access to the timing cover to check injector timing. It was right on 19 degrees before top dead center.

Be advised that just because the marks line up, it doesn't mean your actual injection timing is correct. Internal wear in the pump, caused by not changing the cam box oil, can still make for retarded timing and consequent misfires.

Bern is absolutely correct, everyone I've ever messed with had different amounts of retard or advance when on the mark. Some of it is wear, others I believe to be sloppy pump shop work when they setup a pump and don't redo the mark for injection start. Some were stock pumps others setup for pulling with bigger plungers.

So how do i know if the timing is correct? The tractor runs ok, starts hard when cold. one the engine is hot it starts real fast. I attribute the hard cold starting due to low compression and a lotta hours.

Does the three cylinder inline pump have the cold start button on the side of the pump like the four cylinder pumps, my brothers 5200 started a lot easier in cold weather using that.

No it does not have the cold start button. Just the thermostart feature in the intake manifold. It does get red hot when you put the switch in the right position but doesn't seem to help in starting. The return lines on the injectors are old and kinda loose fitting so don't think the thermstart is getting any fuel for starting
