7710 dash removal

I'm trying to remove the dash/ instrument
cluster on my 7710 and I'm wondering if
there's a trick to it? I have the four
Allen head screws out but the dash won't
lift out.

Disconnect tach cable under oilfilter. May solve part of the problem.

You not only have to disconnect the cable, you have to shove it back as well. Also, the wiring on the back of toggle switches in the lower corner of the cluster will interfere with the tabs in the cowl. The cluster has to come out at the top first, then move up a fraction, then the bottom will release.
For that reason it is advisable to remove the battery ground cable. One of the few instances I heed that caution.
