How to tow a 601 with a sos transmission

Hello,

I about to load a old workmaster on my flat bed trailer soon. But how do i tow it? I have seen on sites that when the tractor isnt in drive gears it locks the parking brakes. So there is no neutral ...lever, setting? Would i have to pull the axle shafts then?

Any help would be great. And happy New Year!!

If I remember this correctly there is a drive line disconnect on the left hand side. If you are sitting on it just behind your left heel is a small lever you need to move. If I am remembering right you have to pull a nut out to move it. Send me an e-mail and I'll scan a picture of it and the info on it out of the owners manual I have. Not that your going to do it but it also says do not tow it over 20MPH

I also meant to ask yo if you where a Sea-bee?? My son was till he got the boot when they down sized 7 sea-bee battalions

Nice to hear you got it.
Congrats.
As Old says you remove the nut and flip
the little lever over.
Rock the tractor to get it to disengage
the coupler inside.
I added an arrow to your photo to show
where it is.

Thank you for the fast replies. Thought there should be a way to tow it... It is looking i might be a new owner of the tractor in couple hours.

Yes i was a equipment operator seabee. I got out just as they started to force people out in 2009. I had alot of friends back in fort leonardwood go to nmcb 7 back in 2001.

Thank you all again i will be looking for a operation manual and service manual.

Don't remember when the son got booted out of the Navy but he was a sea-bee welder. Did some time in Jubuty Africa building schools etc. Is say it like I do with most but on this site it might get me in trouble LOL. He was stationed at Gulfport MS whe he got booted out and he got a general under honorable conditions instead of an honorable discharge which to me was wrong but he got it because he had signed up for 6 years and got booted after 3 so he got the general

I am look at the tractor tomorrow yo come up with a plan to load it up with out tearing up the mans yard as it has been raining for a few days here lately. I hope to find a copy just to have it on hand. I love old manuals...they were simple and not full with tons of safety and disclosures.. thank you.

Well, this is my first ebay buy that i was scared to go see and pickup.

I checked it out his past monday and the yard of the estate was super soft after days of rain. I returned with my father inlaw to pick it up today and as we winched it on the trailer there was a tire sticker on the left rear tire.... all 4 looked new but this sticker proved they are new! So the old man fied 5 years ago and this tractor was parked 5 years ago.

I think the tractor hot bew shoes and he died so it was parked.

This 615.00 tractor looks to be good. :) here are someboyher pics of my 601!!
