There is fluid coming out the hole just below the fluid level plug. The pic shows the hole (green arrow) and the level plug (red arrow).

Must have fell out. What's the chance it will still line up with a new bolt? Or will I need to disassemble?

Thanks for the info!

Quit driving the tractor.
You don't have much oil in the rear end.
There is a machine screw that goes in there. Pan head with a flat screwdriver slot. About 1/4-20?
Has a fiber washer under it.
The bolt/screw holds a bracket inside for the oil line in there.
Maybe Sean or Destroked can look up the right size bolt for you.
Hard to do on this phone.
I'm sure it's a hardware store item as is the washer.
To fix it remove the round cover on the other side of the tractor and look inside with a flash light.. You will see the bracket.
You will need a helper.
Have them start the screw into the bracket while you reach in and hold it in place.
Not hard. Just tough to reach in and start the screw at the same time.

Not to many have had luck of hitting the hole. Holds return filter tube. Usually requires lift cover removal. Its 5/16-24x1 1/8 with sealwasher. My get by useing -011 oring on bolt.
Will need to replace some other orings also.

5/16-24x1" screw NH# 280353
Seal washer NH# E84GF9
Also calls for a lock washer.

I'm guessing they used a pan head screw to keep someone from over tightening a bolt to much and stripping out the bracket or torque twisting it and the tube.

Also calls for a seal. Here are all of the parts you might need:

117630ES (superseded by 81761138) - NUT & Retainer Assembly

E84GF9 (superseded by 81800802) OIL SEAL, 8.18mm ID x 13.46mm OD x 2.13mm Thk

280248 (superseded by 80280248) LOCK WASHER, 9/16"

38308S36 (superseded by 280353) SCREW, Pan Hd, 5/16" - 24 x 1 1/8"

The first one, the nut, may still be in place on the bracket or it may have fallen into the sump. If it has fallen you should be able to fish it out with a magnet, but if you can't find ity you may need to order that part as well.

As Ultradog said, you should only need to remove the round cover on the left side, and you will need a helper. One of you will reach in and hold the bracket and the nut in place from the inside while the other inserts the screw with the oil seal and lock washer from the outside.

Here's a link to the parts drawing. The parts I listed above are labelled 46 through 49 in the drawing:

Sean,
The nut is welded onto the bracket so no
chance of it falling into the sump and no
worries about having to hold it in place to
get the bolt started.
Iirc, I actually did the job alone some 10
or 12 years ago.
I took the seat off and by laying with my
chest on the top cover was able to reach
both the bolt on one side and the bracket
through the hole. But I'm tall/long armed so
could jusssst reach.
It would be much easier to have a helper to
start the bolt/screw while you hold the
bracket inside.
