Kory's Poppa

I have a Ford Tractor that I was told that it is a 851. It once ran on LP add has been converted to gasoline. The serial number left of transmission is all but worn off SGD mostly unreadable. Is there another location for a serial number. I would like to correctly identify year and model.

The model number is above and to the right of the serial number.
851 will have a 5 spd trans and standard pto (non live)
Picture's would help.

If is is in fact an 851 as said it will have 5 forward speeds and the PTO will stop when you push the clutch pedal down. But if it has a 5 speed and when you push the clutch half way down and the tractor stops but the PTO still spins then you have a 861. The 801 series which was models like the 821, 831, 841, 851and 861 all where made from 1958 to 1962. By the way there are a couple other models also but those had the SOS transmissions

To add to old's description, your clutch pedal will have two pin settings if it is capable of having live pto. Change pin setting for pedal to raise about 2 inches and you will feel the resistance of the pto clutch.
