1973 Ford 7500 backhoe

So I had some hydraulic cylinders repacked on my backhoe. I had a company come out and take them off. They took them to their shop and I had a falling out with them. So they gave me my cylinders back in a box with a box of parts and said come and pick them up. Now I need some help getting the hydraulic cylinders back on my backhoe. I have them installed. The hoe is working as it should. Where the pins go in there are snap rings of sorts(see picture). Its so the pins do not come out. I am trying to find out what kind of a tool I need to open these up so I can get the "snap ring" around the pin. The only kind of "snap ring" I have ever seen like this before had a hole at each end. You could then buy a opener and you could put it in the hole and squeeze the ring apart. This ring has no such hole. I went to tractor supply and they had nothing. I then went to auto zone and they had nothing. Can anyone tell me what the tool is called that I am looking for and possibly where to buy it? Also I am sure these are not called snap rings so can you tell me what the correct term is for the item. Also where do I put the hydraulic fluid in? I understand that should be basic but I am assuming its under the hood on the left side and the muffler is blocking me from opening the hood. If I know that is where it is I can consintrate my time there. Thanks to anyone who can help. I am a newbie and appreciate you help.

That kind you can usually improvise without special tools. Maybe use
a regular outside snap ring pliers to expand and get it started around
the pin. Then tap one end into the groove with a pin punch and
hammer. Then, starting at the seated end with the pin punch and
hammer continue tapping around the circumference until the ring seats.
Of course, as usual, a special tool would be faster.

google "External Lock-Ring Pliers"

Lot's of places sell them, be careful, if you "over-expand" the ring and it jumps out, they hurt!

I've had this pair from SEARS for over 30 years, McMaster, Summit Racing, Amazon all have them for around $20
Get a good pair, you'll need them again on that beast!

I have the tool, but just always found it easier to not use it. Just
used a couple small screw drivers. Start at one end and work your way around. Wear glasses. With or without the tool they like to fly. You can also buy the rings with holes and do away with those. Did that to my neighbors, he lost one. I took the pin to auto supply and got one to fit.
