4 cyl 2000 12 volt conversion

I just received the 12 volt conversion kit from this site. The instructions show how to connect to an ammeter, but my tractor has an idiot light. How do I wire this? I realize that I can just connect the wires that go to the ammeter, but how do I get the light to work?
Thanks,
Tex

Is it a one wire or q 3 wire alternator?? If it is the 3 wire no problem if it is the one wire I do not think it can be done

(quoted from post at 13:38:46 12/03/16) It's a 1 wire alternator.
eing a one-wire, using an Idiot light, depends on the specific one-wire regulator used in it......for some the light will function as desired if connected to the #1 spade terminal at alternator and to switched ignition at the other. However, with other one-wire units, it will not. If you knew the specific regulator module part number, it could be researched & determined. Otherwise you can try it and see if it functions. By the way, there are dozens of different one-wire regulators on the market.

Ya but figure it this way. It probably cost the guy $100 or more for the kit so he has to use it as is or void the warranty of he can go and buy a 3 wire for around $50 and have a life time warranty and not have to open up an alternator which most people can not do because they do not know how to do it
