Ford 3000 Hydraulic pump leak

You guys are probably starting to notice a trend here and I want to thank you all for the tremendous resource of knowledge. You can probably imagine how much fun I'm having with "Ol' Leaky"!

Problem is a hydraulic leak from the front of the pump. There's a hole up there that is seeping pretty steady when it's running. From the cross section picture in my manual it looks like there should be some type of screw in the hole but I don't see one. I also can't verify that a screw should actually be there. Anybody know what the exact name/function of this potentially missing screw? I'm pointing to it in the picture below with my highlighter:

That threaded hole is to pull shaft after driving out spring pin. The next groove to rite has oring in it. This requires removal of hyd pump.

Disconnect the hydraulic lines and pull the pump, four bolts to the block. Drive the cross pin out and pull the shaft. The gear will fall out and there are thrust washers on either side. Replace the O-ring, lube it with motor oil when you put the shaft back in. Hardest part is keeping the gasket in place when you put the pump back on.

When I go to disconnect the lines do I need to be concerned about bleeding off the pressure? How do you go about this?

So it sounds like I just need an o ring and it probably wouldn't hurt to replace the gasket. Is that right? Anyone have links to these parts?

Pressure only when the pump is running. Go to Case New Holland parts store for parts and search on your model. Have you checked the pump pressure and does it work OK? As long as it's off you may as well take care of any other problems. A manual would help.

The hydraulics work flawlessly. If I get away with doing this fix alone for now, that's what I'd like to do.

I pulled it apart last night without a problem. The o ring on the shaft was clearly the issue. I had a replacement that fit and now I'm just waiting on the "pump to block" gasket to be shipped to put it back on. Not a tough project at all.
