Well I'm still in the process of restoring the Ford. The pulled the head off today to see if it had sleeves. It looks like it has sleeves but I cannot tell the Pistons or 40 over I don't know if they made us leave for the 40 over piston or not does anybody know thanks

(quoted from post at 22:09:07 11/29/16) If you can clean the top of the pistons, they should tell you the size stamped into them.

I I didn't explain myself well enough over so I'm not sure if they make a sleeve that is 40 over I can't tell if it has sleeves it looks like it but I can't tell

These engines didn't come with sleeves but repair sleeves can be installed, they only come in standard bore so if your repairing one cylinder that's been bored, you have to sleeve it back to standard and then bore the sleeve to the oversize needed.
On a .040 block I'd sleeve all four back to standard and get new standard pistons and rings. It adds a lot to the repair cost but boring a new sleeve to .040 over is a waist of a sleeve to me.

Thanks destroke I just wasn't sure if they made a oversized sleeve but I will definitely be doing all 4 cylinders this is a complete restore. Oh by the way I've got the power steering cylinder you sent me rebuilt I have not tried it out yet do to restore in the whole tractor

You probably should establish which 5000 engine you have, as they changed them in mid production.

Are the cylinders worn or scored, you may be able to hone them and put in a new set of rings on the old pistons if they look ok.
I think the steering cylinder will do ok, it looked pretty good inside when I checked it before I shipped it to you.

Good luck on the restoration.
