Hello! I have a 1961 FORD 600 SERIES TRACTOR.Is the transmission, hydraulic and the rear differential all one oil reservoir?

The compartments are separate. The drain plugs for each are labeled 28-30 in the figure.

As the other guy has posted as for the oil
But for your info a 600 series was made from 1955 to 1957. In 1958 they came out with the 601 series and it ran from 1958 to 1962. In those series in the 600 there was models like the 640 or 650 or 660. The last 2 had 5 speeds and the 660 had live PTO.
In the 601 series there was the 641, 651, 661, 671 and 681. The first 3 are the same as in the 600 series but the last 2 where the SOS transmissions

Thank you Mike and Old.It is a 640 as that is what is stamped on the starter housing as well as the numbers 144278.Could this number determine the year?Thank you.

If you look on the left under research & info then serial numbers then Ford then the 600 series you can find where that serial number fits in the list of numbers. I'll tell you how to find the info but as said you can teach a man to fish and feed him his life time or you gave hand him a fish and feed him once

Yes, there are 3 seperate compartments for
oil on that tractor. Transmission,
hydraulics and rear end.
However, oil technology having improved
greatly since that tractor was built, it is
now recommended that you use the same oil in
all 3 compartments. Look for a UTF
(universal tractor fluid) that meets Ford
134D specs. Other generic names for it are
Hytrans or Transdraulic. Most of us use a
good generic from Fleet Farm, TSC or even
rural Wal Marts will have it.
It will say 'meets or exceeds Ford 134 D
specs' right on the lable of the pail or
jug.
PS
Welcome to the Ford board.
That is a very good model tractor.
