Couple weeks ago I asked about a Ford 6610. It sold today for $24,750. It was in really good shape but I figured that was to high for me.

That's a beautiful machine. A guy across the road from me has a four wheel drive 1983 Ford 6610 that he hasn't used for a couple of years. It is in fairly poor shape with leaking hydraulic hoses, missing windows from the cab, loose front end, no tractor lights (all broken up or off), frozen air conditioner compressor, no fluid in the power steering reservoir, weather checked and worn 13.6 X 38 inch rear tires, and filthy as a pig. Starts and runs well in place, but I haven't seen it in use since he parked it a couple of years ago.
I'm toying with the idea of offering him something for it. It would take a whole lot of work and expense to put it back to any reasonable condition, so I'm flummoxed about how much to offer him. I don't want to insult him by offering an unrealistic low-ball amount, but it looks to me like it will be a few thousand dollars to get it back to a usable condition.
