Iam a Ford man I have a 661 and 841 but I have a good friend that has 26hp Mahindra and needs an engine for it the front end loader bolts
got loose and he cant use the loader so he needs an engine for it. I know there is a wealth of knowelege on this site, just hoping some one
could point me in the right direction.

Are you saying that the loader mounts to the engine and the bolts are loose and can't tighten? If that is the case, has he tried a thread insert like a helicoil?

You don't mention the model or age of the tractor so there's not much specific to go on. If the block is no longer available new from Mahindra then my advice would be to start contacting salvage yards.

It looks like they made both a manual and a hydrostatic version of that model, but both used the same engine., The part number for the engine block is 31B0732040. It looks like it is still available new from any Mahindra dealer for around $1500.00 for just the block. Then you would have to transfer everything over and replace anything that's worn, so you're looking at the effort and cost of a rebuild plus the replacement block. Your local Mahindra dealer might also be able to tell you where you can find already rebuilt engines in your area, which might be cheaper, and would definitely be less labor than buying the block and doing everything else yourself.
