850 Ford plow tractor build

Just thought I would share some pictures of the plow tractor I been putting together, it's an 850 Ford that I mated up to the engine and front axle of a 671 which naturally had a bad transmission! Cab was from a Ford 8000, built a framework and floors to mount it and made new sheetmetal for the front since I would have had to modify the original sheetmetal to be able to work with the cab. Made most of the pieces from sheetmetal cut from old 12 and 14 gauge oil tanks. Also fitting up the snowplow lift frame from our old ih scout to go on front

Nice work.
Real good job of fabricating the sheet metal.
Read Royse's post below about max output on a generator on a 3 cyl Ford. I suspect yours is about the same. If you are running a heater, lights, wipers, etc you might consider putting a 10-SI on it, unless of course, you want to keep the tractor "all original" wink.
Ps, It's time to clean your shop :)

No worries there, it's getting a 12 volt alternator. And with led lights there isn't much draw other than the heater. And I just built this shop/shed area in August can't be time to clean yet!

I like it!
What have you got planned for a grill?
I like something to protect the radiator.
I have some more work to do on mine yet but getting closer.

Grill is perforated metal welded into a
frame of flatstock so decent radiator
protection, and it will all be behind
the snowplow frame anyhow so that makes
for a bit of a crash bumper too

Sounds like it will work well.
Lets air in and keeps sticks and stones out!
Post some more pics when you get it done. Looks great!
