New Zenith carb on 5000

I just put a new Zenith carb on my 5000, it starts and runs fine but it idles at 16000 RPM's, no load. The only adjustment I can see is a screw at the top of the carb. I don't know what it is fore, no instructions came with it.

Hopefully you added an extra zero. I don't think that 16000 rpm's is physically possible with that engine without a complete structural failure of at least one major component or., more likely, several.

Have you tried disconnecting the governor linkage from the carb completely to see if the carb itself is capable of a lower idle?
