hundred series vertical exhaust

Has anyone installed one of the later vertical transition exhaust pipe/brackets on a hundred series? I was reading in the archives CNH stopped selling the old cast version & has a steel version(86534432). If anyone has a pic of it installed I'd like to see what it looks like. Here's what I have currently, but was wondering if the CNH piece sets the vertical pipe a little further aft. My current set-up has the vertical tube right up against the back of my headlight.

Don't know if this is NH or custom bent but it was on the '55 I just bought. This had no bracket behind the light, was held w/baling wire. It was surprisingly quiet for an old glass pack!

Didn't mean to post the pic twice! Also should mention there is a bracket the muffler clamp bolts thru mounted directly to the block. I am not home right now so can't get a pic, but will later if you want.

Here's mine the day I picked it up. Your mention of baling wire made me remember mine also came with the muffler "wired" to the headlight.
The PO decided he didn't need a vertical pipe hanging up on trees I guess, he just let the muffler blow straight out the front.

Maybe Steve's post will help. Hit the link. Have you tried to loosen the clamp and tap the pipe in more. By the photo it looks like you have some room before the bend. If no room inside you might be able to knock the pipe out and cut a bit off before reinstall.

I see in your link to Steve's post you had a pic of several of the available steel bent tube/bracket assemblies. I've just never seen one installed on a hundred series.

Here's a little better pic of my 860 with sheet metal installed. I trimmed down the tube going into the muffler until the bend is up against the muffler flair. That 1st pic I posted is a little misleading because it was before I painted everything & installed sheet metal. I had to trim the pipe to get it to clear the headlight at all. It's not a big problem, but I've always kept my eye out for something to give me more clearance. Hobo's glasspack solution might be a possibility.

When I gathered parts to refresh this tractor I seem to remember sizing the exhaust elbow, muffler, pipe, etc. to the larger 801 series. I never checked to see if that would cause things to get more crowded up there.

On the link pictures, Kirk's 2 pictures of the red tractor have the same bracket mine has - kind of a "Y" shaped that the muffler clamp bolts through.

I don't believe those are glass packs
like hot rodders use, my father's
tractor has the same muffler, he bought
it from Napa about 30 years ago, said
they offered a standard or swedged style
which was one piece outsides and cheaper
, he figured no crimp joints to rust
would make it last longer, maybe he was
right it's still looking good after 30+
