Loader bracket dimensions

Can someone with a Ford 5000 / 6600 / 7600 please confirm what the distance is between the three sets of mounting holes on the gearbox and the two sets in front of the engine, either side of the front axle. I bought a front end loader on auction but the mountings does not fit my Ford 4000. I am looking to buy a 4 cyl Ford for the loader work anyway but I am not sure if the dimensions are standard on the 4 cyl models and if the engine block length is the same on the 5000/6600/7600.

Are you sure? I'm not.... Mabey I'm nitpicking... but the way it was phrased as '5000', '6600' and '7600'... I'm not sure the 5000 is the same as the other two on the front bolster. The 56/66/7600 should all be the same tho.

Thank you for the confirmation Rickb & Bern. I was fairly certain that the transmissions were the same but was not sure about the engine block length.

Here in South Africa the 10 series Fords were sold with an ADE (Atlantis Diesel Engines) engine, which was a Perkins clone. I suspect that the loader bracket will not fit on that.

ADE engine? I never heard of that. Any pics?

I can't imagine that the bellhousing and front mount bolts would be the same, meaning it would need adapters of some sort. If the engine is not the same length as the Ford, then the hood would have to be altered to accommodate.

South Africa at the time required the use of a domestically assembled engine in (I think ) all tractors. So they had a company (ADE) assemble Perkins engines under licence... and Ford bowed to the regulation in order to sell the tractor. So all Fords sold in SA at the time were Perkins powered.

This was a result of UN sanctions against SA in the 1980's and early 1990's. We could not import completely assembled tractors and trucks. The government then decided to invest in a local production facility for engines and parts. In the photos attached you will see that the block is completely different alternator on the right and injection pump and stater on the left. It was not only Ford that was sold like this, Fiat MF and even John Deere had a 41 and 51 series (e.g. 2141 or 2651) sold with the ADE engine. Obviously MF had it easy the engines were similar to what the already. I am not sure if the modified the bell housing and front mount or if the block was custom cast to fit the transmission.

Thanks for the photos. More proof that every day is a school day, and 'always' and 'never' are often inaccurate in the world of Ford.

Very interesting - thanks for sending the photos.

There is definitely an adapter of some sort between the engine and trans, however the front bolster looks like it was redesigned to accommodate the Perkins engine. Also note the brackets to tie the whole thing together. Obviously Ford felt that the Perkins block was not near as strong as their own.
