Ford 5000 front axle pin bolt

Hi,

I have recently purchased a Ford 5000 and I noticed that the bolt that holds the pin in the rear pivot point of the front axle is missing. Does anyone know what size bolt this is? I have tried several but can't find anything to fit.

Thanks,
Jon

Parts site says it's 7/16"-14 x 7/8" Grade 5

If you can't find it anywhere else you should be able to get one through your New Holland dealer. The New Holland part number is 50087. Messicks wants $4.49 plus shipping for one. partspring only sells them in bags of 10 for $37.10 plus shipping.

Most other places don't seem to carry a 7/8" long one though, just 3/4" and 1", but I would probably go with a 3/4" long bolt for less than a buck rather than shell out $4+ through New Holland.

I'd use a 1" long bolt and add an extra flat washer underneath. Having said that, I doubt the length is that critical in that application.
