any one ever change a fuel tank on a 5600 with cab? how hard a job is this.and do i have to raise front of cab up? thanks

If it's a factory cab, I would hate to be you. If the tank really does have to come out, I'd start with a split behind the engine and go from there. Having said that, I've never had to remove a tank from one of those tractors with a cab before, so I'm not sure if the cab would have to be lifted or not. Maybe Rod knows more.

If the reason it needs to come out is because of a leak, I'd be looking at JB Weld really hard right now. Applied correctly, it works very well.

I've never been sentenced to that chore either. I agree with your approach tho. JBWeld it if possible. Otherwise split it is probably best. At the end of the day tho... I don't know if that will get the tank out either tho? If this is a manual steering 7600 with a Q.... my god I hate to think of that job. The cowl has to come up to get the tank out I think so that would require lifting the cab. Mabey one could support the front of the cab and release the front mounts and pivot it carefully about the rear mounts?
There are just so may reasons why a cab should never have been put on a straddle tractor... but this is probably one of the most relevant.

Best reason I can think of for not putting a cab on a straddle mount tractor is because you have to be an acrobat to get in and out of the thing!

I agree with you Rod - just splitting the tractor is no guarantee that the rest will be easy.
