Ford 901 fuel gauge

My fuel gauge started showing full all the time, full or otherwise. I bought a new sender and it's still showing full. Goes from empty to full when key is turned on and shows full when sender lead is grounded. Old sender meausures 3 ohms at full position and 194 ohms at empty. New sender mesures 14 to 124 ohms Gauge measures 138 ohms? Looks like I may need a new gauge?

Frank[Well it wasn't the gauge either. Cleaned the ground side of the sender and replaced the ignition switch. After adjusting looks like everythings working?

id that gauge & sender work correctly at some point in time. I ask, because some are low full & some are high full? Gotta match.
 
Yes until recently the gauge worked "ok". The sender has a ground connection between the float and frame. I cleaned this, didn't help. Ran an additional ground to the gauge and??? discovered I had a problem with the ignition switch, I replaced the switch and now everything works after some adjustment on the sender. Don't know what really was fixed??
