Hello All;
Do Ford 1801 HD Industrial tractors have a 3 point hitch and hydraulics? This tractor currently has a backhoe mounted and a loader.
Thanks,

Not all of 'em. If it has a hoe it is not likely to have a 3 pt.

I've had them both ways so it to hard to tell but as Sean said most didn't and the ones that did also had a pto. As long as you stabilizer pistons are in good shape and don't leak it's not all that hard
to drop the backhoe(with some quick disconnect hoses) for 3pt use. You would have to see if the tires were loaded to counter balance for loader work because most weren't loader because they used the backhoe as the counter weight. Model number might give you a better idea.
PS, The steering on the 1801 model was a cable system. Part are no longer available.

Thanks Kirk for your input. As the tractor is listed as a Ford 4000 HD Industrial, I would think it is an 1801 model, though the owner does not know. The loader and backhoe seem to be original. He said the power steering is tight (?) maybe a replaced Jackson unit, again who knows. As it has a PTO and hydraulics to run the loader and backhoe, I would guess it is an 1841 variant. He does not know. some more research...

Hello;
I am still interested in the Ford 4000 HD Industrial tractor and would like to ask for your comments; if I have already asked these questions, I apologize.
This Ford 4000 HD Industrial tractor is a working and complete unit with loader and backhoe, both Ford units. The tractor is working and according to the seller: "everything works". He describes it as an "old working tractor'. From the pictures, it looks like this unit is all original. The owner sounds like the tractor has been his, or in the family, for sometime.
This tractor is 400+ miles away in Central California. I don't own a heavy duty truck and/or trailer. I have not seen the tractor in person. I am also not a great mechanic, and have thought about hiring a local tractor mechanic to inspect and report the on the condition of the tractor.
Finally, the overrun wants $4500 for the tractor, loader and backhoe (or) he will separate the tractor loader from the backhoe and sell either for $2500. I don't have much use for the backhoe, but is this a unit that should stay together?
Many facets of my questions, any comments are great appreciated.
Thanks,
