Do I need to use any special type or brand of coolent in my 4500 backhoe or just go with Prestone and water 50 /50 ?
I live in an area that gets below 30 F a few days a year and never over 100 F in the Summer.
thank you
Fred

If it's got a gasoline engine then any good coolant/anti-freeze should work fine. If it's got a diesel engine, you will want a coolant with anti-cavitation conditioner in it or you will need to add the conditioner yourself, as the diesel 3 cylinder engines are known to get pinholes in the cylinders from cavitation.

Use a good diesel rated coolant and DCA4 conditioner. Those blocks can pinhole regardless if they're gas or diesel.
