'66 4000 s.o.s. hydrolic help plz

hi guys! What is this and why is it leaking? Lol. And where can I find hydrolic filter replacements? Been looking around, can't seem to find any. The ones that you have to take the covers off the sides for. Thank you!

There is oring on idler shaft is bad. Just got hard from time. Have to pull pump to replace. There is one filter inside, have to pull lift cover to change. Part# 84277192 and 2 of E82GF9 New Holland numbers.

The 1000 series didn't have a replaceable
filter.
There is a filter - of sorts - buried down
in the bottom of the rear center housing.
It's actually more like a screen.
But it is a bit of a job to pull the lift
cover and go in there to get at it.
What I do, if I have the pump off, is blow
out the suction (larger) line. Then I
pour lacquer thinner in it and blow it out
again.

Ultradog,

My '73 4000 with S-O-S has a replaceable paper filter cartridge on the return line inside the rear end in addition to the metal screen on the pickup line. It is labelled number 50 in the flow control valve diagram [u:b1663e6e2a][b:b1663e6e2a]HERE[/b:b1663e6e2a][/u:b1663e6e2a]. There is a bypass valve (56) that opens when the filter gets clogged and bypasses the fluid back to the sump without it getting filtered, and almost every tractor out there that has this setup has probably had that happen at least once in its lifetime because of lack of knowledge on the part of the owner, so they really aren't that necessary, but they are there.
