I changed the lift pump and it seems to run well now. Only ran it for 30 minutes with the disc, but it never spit and sputtered at all. Hopefully this was it.

Suggest doing an autopsy on your old pump. If there's a bunch of crap inside of it, then the new one won't last long because it builds up inside and hangs up the check valves. This most likely means that you have no screen in your bottom tank, and that one needs to be put on.

It's not a "CAV" pump in the way most people on this board refer to injection pumps. While it is made by CAV, it's more commonly referred to as a Simms, Minimec, or inline pump, to differentiate between the two CAV rotary pumps also used by Ford on the 4-cylinder tractors.

Is CAV the name of the company that built the pump or is it the style of pump? It is a CAV Minimec pump. My Oliver has a Roosta Master injection pump. What is the difference between the two pumps?

C.A.V. was founded by Charles Vandervell in the early part of the last century and through the course of time developed diesel fuel systems and most notably marketed a rotary design pump (Roosa Master)... So most of us associate CAV pumps as either being a Roosa style DPA, DPS or DP200 type pump. CAV also had their own type of inline pump at one time. The inline you have was derived from the Simms company. Simms was acquired by Lucas (CAV's parent company) in 1968... so after that point they obviously added the CAV embossment to the inline pump... but the pump is generally known as a Simms/Minimec... Calling it a CAV pump will bring you a lot of heartache generally.
